CPR submitted comments strongly discouraging weakening current privacy protections under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rules. The Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services recently issued a Request for Information as they consider possible changes to the way protected health information of people with psychiatric disabilities or substance use disorders can be shared.
